Show and Tell Questions - Lights
You may be asked a question about the different lights and light setting on the car. All of which you need to be familiar with because at some stage in your driving life you will have to use them.
Fog Lights
Q - Show me how you would switch on your rear fog light and explain when you would use them.
A - Turn the fog light switch on (Switch is on the indicator stalk) you will need the ignition and your side lights for the fog lights to come on. Explain that you should use fog lights in poor visibility and that you should switch them off as soon as visibility improves. (It is an offence to drive with fog lights on when not required)
Headlights and Taillights
Q - Tell me how you would check your headlights and tail lights were working properly.
A - Explain that you would switch the headlights on and then go around the vehicle to check. As this is a tell question there is no need for you to get out of the car to check.
Dipped and Main Beam
Q - Show e how you would switch your headlights from dipped to main beam and how would you know main beam was on whilst in the the car.
A - Switch your headlights on (indicator stalk) this will show a green light on dashboard, pulling the indicator stalk towards you switches on the main beam a blue light will now appear on the dashboard.
Indicators
Q - Show me how you would check that your directional indicators are working properly.
A - Using the hazard warning lights switch on the indicators and walk around the car to check that they are all working properly.
